Mary was born as a middle child to Richard & Margaret Pake. At the age of 7 world war 2 broke out and Dover became a regular target for both shelling and bombing, after an incident where an explosion blew her over a fence and into the next doors garden her dad and mum decided to evacuate their children to   Richards mothers house in Bathgate a small town in between Glasgow and Edinburgh, here her brother and Mary stayed until 1945. In the late 40s she met Ronald Hunter at a town hall dance and on the 16th December 1950 they married, whilst Ron was still in the Royal Navy serving in Korea aboard two light carriers, that Ron referred to as flat beds. They were returning home when a stork landed on the carrier, shortly after he returned home Mary became pregnant with Janet. TBC ..........
